Recently we have read the article from Burkhart, Rayens and Oakley (2012) with great interest. In this study, the authors followed 77 school-aged children for 16 weeks to measure the effect of peak flow monitoring (PFM) on asthma quality of life (QoL). They concluded that children who were taught to integrate PFM in their asthma self-management program showed improved QoL after 8 weeks, an effect that maintained at 16 weeks.
